Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, on Monday, reaffirmed Iraq's strong commitment to enhancing Arab solidarity and unifying positions against regional challenges. This came during Iraq's participation in the 166th regular ministerial session of the Council of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt. Minister Hussein, who led the Iraqi delegation, also participated in preparatory meetings, including the Ministerial Committee on the Palestinian issue and a consultative gathering of Arab Foreign Ministers. Addressing the consultative meeting, he highlighted the far-reaching implications of the conflict between Tehran and Washington, noting its adverse effects on regional states and the global economy. He stressed the critical need for dialogue channels among all parties to achieve peaceful resolutions, preventing further financial and economic crises. During the Ministerial Committee on Palestine, Minister Hussein reiterated Iraq's steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, affirming support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state. In his address to the main Council session, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Iraq's principled call for full respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity. He firmly rejected warfare and conflict escalation, emphasizing dialogue, political, and diplomatic means as paramount for de-escalating tensions and securing lasting peace and stability regionally. He further highlighted Iraq's pivotal role, as current chair of the Arab Summit, in advancing Arab solidarity, consensus, and harmonizing positions on diverse challenges. This commitment aims to bolster joint Arab action and serve the collective interests of Arab nations.
