The head of the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Amer Al-Fahdawi, hosted Armenian Ambassador Ruben Sogoyan at the Federation's Baghdad headquarters to discuss strengthening joint economic and trade relations. This meeting aligns with ongoing efforts to expand commercial cooperation between the two nations regionally and internationally. During their talks, both parties explored opportunities for developing bilateral economic and trade ties, focusing on vital sectors such as commerce, industry, agriculture, energy, digitalization, and advanced technologies. Al-Fahdawi noted these discussions complement the outcomes of the recent Iraqi-Armenian Business Forum in Yerevan. Al-Fahdawi affirmed the Federation's commitment to boosting bilateral trade volume, targeting approximately $350 million by early 2026. Additionally, plans involve activating existing memoranda of understanding and establishing joint business councils in new economic sectors to deepen their partnership. Ambassador Sogoyan emphasized the importance of continuous engagement with the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce to enhance trade and economic interaction. He expressed Armenia's aspiration to increase trade volume by fully utilizing available potential and facilitating cooperation and partnership between their respective commercial sectors.
