The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced in its report issued on Sunday, September 13, 2026, that Iraq ranked tenth among the largest crude oil exporting countries to the United States during the past week, with a daily average of 46,000 barrels. Official data released by the administration revealed a significant increase in Iraqi export rates compared to the previous week, which had registered 38,000 barrels per day. This development indicates the continued gradual recovery of Iraqi crude shipments heading towards American markets, following a period of previous stoppages and declines attributed to regional security tensions and the impact on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Among the main crude oil suppliers to the United States, Canada topped the list with an average of 3.926 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela (599,000 barrels), then Saudi Arabia (347,000 barrels). The list also included Mexico in fourth place (297,000 barrels), and Colombia in fifth place (239,000 barrels per day). Meanwhile, Brazil ranked sixth (235,000 barrels), Nigeria seventh (232,000 barrels), Argentina eighth (173,000 barrels), and Guyana came in ninth with an average of 65,000 barrels per day.
