Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudeir affirmed on Saturday that the involvement of American companies in Iraq represents a significant leap forward in developing the oil and gas industry. He indicated an anticipated acceleration in project implementation during the upcoming phase, as part of a national strategy to enhance the country's vital energy sector capabilities. Khudeir clarified, according to the official agency, that the ministry's objective is centered on securing the required gas supplies and putting an end to gas flaring, in addition to diversifying crude oil export outlets. He stated that the Iraqi delegation's visit to the United States, alongside the Prime Minister, resulted in agreements aimed at supporting this strategic direction. The minister emphasized that the presence of American companies in Iraq's oil and gas sector, with their advanced technology and expertise, effectively enhances knowledge transfer and develops the sector's capabilities. He pointed out that the coming days will witness rapid movement in project completion, based on government directives led by Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, to engage in direct dialogue with companies to shorten timelines and accelerate work, aiming for 24-hour project execution. The minister revealed that the Ministry of Oil will soon hold a conference with participating companies to focus on mechanisms for faster project completion. He affirmed the ministry's commitment to cooperating with various ministries to overcome problems and challenges that companies may face, ensuring the effective execution of their projects within the required schedules.
