President Nizar Amidi, on Wednesday, stressed the importance of avoiding escalation and the use of force, during his reception of Iranian Shura Council Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and his accompanying delegation at Baghdad Palace. The meeting covered recent regional and international developments, in addition to discussing prospects for bilateral relations and their development to serve the common interests of both peoples and the region's general good. President Amidi highlighted Iraq's steadfast position supporting all efforts to end regional conflicts and resolve crises, emphasizing the necessity of adopting constructive dialogue and diplomatic paths to address outstanding issues and establish lasting security and stability. The President affirmed Iraq's clear support for measures strengthening regional peace and preserving state sovereignty, highlighting the importance of wisdom and peaceful solutions in dispute resolution. He also stressed avoiding escalation and force, citing their severe repercussions on security and peace. For his part, Ghalibaf expressed his country's appreciation for the deep historical ties between the two peoples and neighboring nations, affirming Iran's commitment to continued coordination and joint cooperation with Iraq across various fields.
