The National Security Service announced today, Friday, the apprehension of three drug traffickers in a qualitative intelligence operation based on precise information from within prisons across two governorates. In a statement, the service clarified that based on intelligence received from inside a prison, tactical teams in Kirkuk, in cooperation with the reform departments' intelligence security center, and after judicial approvals, apprehended two suspects outside the prison. They seized (1.25) kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. In Basra, confessions from a number of detainees led to identifying a drug dealer involved in smuggling narcotics into a prison, where detachments successfully apprehended him red-handed. Legal measures have been taken against the suspects, who were referred to the competent judicial authorities for fair punishment.
