Oil prices edged down slightly on Friday, as markets evaluated diverse factors, primarily the prospect of de-escalation in the Middle East. Reuters indicated Brent crude dropped 74 cents (0.69%) to $105.85 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate crude also fell 81 cents (0.86%), settling at $93.80 a barrel. Prices had surged over three percent last Thursday, marking a weekly high, driven by renewed supply disruption fears after missile attacks on Saudi Arabia. Yet, reports of US-Iranian talks on Strait of Hormuz reopening curbed those gains.
