Parliamentary trends to establish new ministries including tourism without additional financial allocations

Political forces are heading towards new administrative and structural arrangements, as MP Kazem Al-Shammari revealed on Wednesday the existence of a consensus within the Coordination Framework to determine the date of the session and approve a structure that includes the establishment of three new ministries. Al-Shammari explained that the step of establishing a ministry for tourism by separating it from the Ministry of Culture came as an urgent response to the necessity of paying attention to religious and archaeological tourism and investing in the historical components that Iraq possesses and which have not been invested in the required manner yet, stressing that this separation does not require adding new staff or financial allocations, but rather relies entirely on existing personnel and departments. He pointed out that the establishment of a ministry for digital technology comes to keep pace with the requirements of modern governance and automation, and to unify the work of directorates and software companies currently scattered among ministries, in order to support effective oversight and limit loopholes for corruption without the need for new appointments, alongside the agreement to establish a minister of state to enhance the executive formation and support institutional coordination.
