In the context of national celebrations marking the historical anniversary of the country independence and its accession to the League of Nations in 1932, major challenges facing the path of nation-building and development emerge, imposing on political leaderships a deep reading of past milestones and drawing lessons to ensure a better future and sustainable stability for all citizens across various governorates. The President, Nezar Amidi, affirmed in his official statement on the occasion of the National Day that the state journey over a full century witnessed pivotal milestones and grave political and social transformations, interspersed with crises, wars, and severe hardships, yet the will of the Iraqi people remained solid, holding fast to their homeland soil and capable of rising again from the ashes of crises to overcome all previous challenges. Amidi explained that the national responsibility laid upon everyone shoulders dictates drawing lessons and morals from the past journey, making common denominators an impenetrable wall against any divisions, and working with solidarity and full responsibility to ensure the construction of a safe and stable state that elevates service standards and meets citizens aspirations by providing real and decent job opportunities for future generations. He stressed at the same time that building a bright future for the country is not the responsibility of a single entity, but rather requires close and sincere cooperation between all state institutions, political entities, and societal formations, with the necessity of prioritizing the supreme interest of the homeland and the future of the children above any other considerations. In concluding his statement, Amidi commemorated the sacrifices of the nation righteous martyrs, reaffirming that there are major opportunities requiring the exertion of further diligent efforts to build a much stronger, more prosperous, and stable Iraq.
