Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, on Thursday, directed the implementation of the fragmentation principle in project execution to accelerate completion, during his visit to the National Investment Commission (NIC) headquarters. Al-Zaidi reviewed the NIC's plans, projects, and mechanisms for implementing investment projects across various development sectors in all governorates. The Prime Minister listened to a presentation on the state of investment work, key opportunities, proposed projects, and mechanisms to accelerate their implementation, in line with the government's program priorities and economic development goals. Al-Zaidi affirmed the government's pride in the NIC as the state's interface in investment, noting Iraq's openness to investments and its pursuit of long-term partnerships. He highlighted Iraq's vast investment opportunities, stressing the need to capitalize on time to transform these opportunities into real projects beneficial to the economy and society. He also directed the application of the fragmentation principle in project execution to expedite their completion and emphasized giving special attention to the "Development Road Project," particularly through the establishment of associated industrial cities to create an integrated economic environment. Al-Zaidi further underscored the importance of rural area development and agricultural sector enhancement, by providing agricultural lands for investment to agricultural engineers and veterinarians. This initiative aims to boost agricultural and livestock production and create job opportunities. He stressed the necessity of the NIC's contribution to the "One Million Residential Plots Project," to support government efforts in addressing the housing file and providing land for citizens. For his part, the head of the National Investment Commission confirmed that investment projects are proceeding in harmony with the government's program priorities, and that the commission is diligently working to transform available investment opportunities into tangible development projects and realities.
