The parliamentary Security and Defense Committee is set to open the Military Industrialization Authority's file. This aims to bolster national defense capabilities and ease state financial burdens, by supporting the Authority's operational plans to provide essential supplies, equipment, and gear for security and military sectors. In a recent statement, committee member MP Khalid Sido clarified that direct engagement with the Military Industrialization Authority has not yet occurred. However, an imminent meeting is scheduled to assess the state of available military industries. Sido noted the committee currently lacks full information on industry scale and Authority capabilities, highlighting a sector decline. This requires direct dialogue to ascertain its causes and explore leveraging existing potentials for advancement. Sido affirmed the upcoming meeting will be crucial for understanding the Authority's operational nature and its needs for support and allocations. A clear strategic vision for reactivating military industries will also be discussed, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign sources for equipping security and military forces, similar to many nations depending on their indigenous industries with necessary governmental backing. Sido emphasized that local industries can supply armed forces with clothing and equipment, and potentially develop advanced weapons, vehicles, and armored vehicles. He stated the Security and Defense Committee will broaden its engagement with this file, viewing communication with the Military Industrialization Authority as a foundational step to form a clear picture and devise a practical strategy for activating and developing these vital industries.
