A court in Karkh sentenced a defendant to six years in prison after he stole more than 25 million Iraqi dinars from a Christian woman by exploiting her trust. The details revealed that the accused worked on renovating the woman's house, which gained her trust. He pretended to want to accompany her to church and accompanied her the first time to avoid suspicion. The second time, he asked her to leave early, exploiting her absence to enter the house, steal the money, and flee. The Karkh Crime Directorate's specialized investigative and technical teams identified and arrested the suspect within less than 48 hours. The full stolen amount was recovered, and his initial and judicial confessions were recorded before he was referred to the judiciary to receive his just punishment.
