Tehran denies US pressure to leave New York and clarifies foreign minister schedule

The Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations has issued an official clarification regarding the circumstances surrounding the diplomatic delegation's departure from New York, denying reports of an American request for the delegation to leave US territory and confirming that the return trip was pre-scheduled before the delegation's arrival to participate in UN events. The mission explained in an official statement that the delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, left the city on Monday evening based on a previously set timetable, noting that the US Department of State had been informed of this specific date on September 17, prior to the Iranian delegation's arrival to participate in the meetings of the 81st session of the General Assembly. In a related context, the mission leveled sharp criticism at the US State Department, accusing it of promoting unfounded rumors lacking objective value after failing to achieve any notable diplomatic breakthrough. Earlier, media reports circulated allegations based on undisclosed sources claiming an American demand for the Iranian delegation to leave New York, though those same reports acknowledged that Araghchi had originally intended to leave the city on the aforementioned date returning to the capital, Tehran.
