According to statements reported by the Iranian Fars news agency, the official underscored that "enemy" vessels would become legitimate targets if a new war were to break out. The official also addressed the strategic Strait of Hormuz, questioning the American military presence in the area in response to previous remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Iranian official challenged Washington, stating that if it considers Hormuz its territory, it should publicly display its warships there. He called on the United States to dispatch one of its ships to the vicinity of the Strait, a remark reflecting ongoing tension between the two sides concerning navigation security and control over this vital waterway. These threats are made against the backdrop of observable U.S. fleet deployment. The latest public tracking, dated September 21, reveals the direct presence of five major U.S. warships in the Indian Ocean: the destroyers "USS Mustin," "USS McFaul," "USS Milius," and "USS John Finn," along with the cruiser "USS Princeton." Additionally, a significantly larger naval force is stationed in the Arabian Sea, comprising the aircraft carriers "USS George Washington" and "USS George H.W. Bush" with their air wings and escort ships, as well as the amphibious ready group led by the "USS Boxer" and Marine Corps units.
