The US Embassy in Beirut announced on Wednesday that it continues to operate normally, providing limited routine services to American citizens as well as visa services. In a public statement regarding its operations, the embassy urged American citizens traveling to or residing in the Middle East to register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) managed by the US Department of State. The embassy explained that registration in this program allows individuals to receive the latest security updates and facilitates communication with the US embassy in the country where the registrant is located during emergencies. Citizens were also encouraged to stay connected through the embassy's official websites in both English and Arabic, as well as its social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and its WhatsApp channel.
