The authority clarified that the fire was successfully extinguished, and the ship continued its voyage, with the crew confirmed safe. No environmental damage was reported, nor has the vessel's material damage been assessed yet. The UKMTO did not disclose details concerning the ship's destination, cargo, owner, or flag. To date, no entity has claimed responsibility for this attack in the critical waterway. This incident follows an Iranian forces announcement on Sunday, detailing the interception of 19 vessels over two days attempting to navigate outside Tehran's designated shipping lane. The Strait of Hormuz remains a central point of international navigation disputes.
