An Iranian "Caspian Airlines" flight was grounded at Istanbul Airport after a Turkish aviation services company initiated legal proceedings that led to the aircraft's detention. This action stems from an outstanding debt owed by the Iranian carrier, estimated at 3 million Euros. The detention occurred as the plane was preparing for departure to Iran. Lawyers representing the Turkish company, ACM Temsil Gozetim, arrived at the airport with enforcement officers, carrying a court order for the aircraft's seizure. Passengers were immediately instructed to disembark and escorted to the airport lounge, while the plane remained under detention. Caspian Airlines, an established Iranian carrier founded in 1993 and headquartered in Tehran, operates domestic and international flights, including routes to Turkey. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-500 with registration EP-KPB, joined Caspian Airlines' fleet in January 2020, according to records.
