Doha Rejects Iran's Attempts to Involve Regional States in Conflicts

Qatar has affirmed its rejection of Iran's attempts to involve regional countries in conflicts, especially when it comes under attack from a third party. The Spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari, stated on Tuesday that the priority is to conclude an agreement between various parties. Al-Ansari noted that Qatar does not support any side against another, and communications are ongoing with all concerned parties. Al-Ansari warned that any escalation would lead to greater repercussions for the region and the world. Regarding U.S. sanctions on Iran, he described them as "unilateral," reaffirming Doha's support for mediation efforts to resolve the crisis between the two countries. He also stressed the necessity of restoring the situation in the Strait of Hormuz to its pre-war state and re-establishing freedom of navigation there, clarifying that Iran's closure of the strait violates international law.
