A Dubai court has issued a ruling obliging Lebanese media personality Nishan to pay 50,000 dirhams in compensation to Egyptian media personality Yasmine Ez. This decision marks a new chapter in their ongoing legal dispute, which originated from an incident at the Arab Media Forum in 2023. The case dates back to September 2023, when Nishan and Ez were scheduled to participate in a session during the forum in Dubai. Nishan proceeded to moderate the session alone after Ez's delay, making statements she deemed offensive, which escalated the incident into a legal conflict. Earlier, in March 2025, the Dubai Court of Cassation had upheld a verdict convicting Nishan and fining him 10,000 dirhams, rendering that particular judgment final in its course in Dubai. Concurrently, the case also saw legal proceedings in Egypt, where the Cairo Economic Court, in April 2025, sentenced Nishan to one month in prison with a 5,000 EGP bail and temporary suspension of execution. He was further ordered to pay 50,000 EGP as temporary civil compensation, a ruling his defense has appealed.
