Firm Iraqi Factions Stance Regarding Resistance Weapons Staying Outside Future Government Agreements

In a notable development for the political and security landscape, Iraqi armed factions announced firmly on Wednesday that their military arsenal will remain exclusively in the hands of their fighters, stressing that they are not bound in any way by any timeline or governmental understanding reached regarding this sensitive file. This official stance came through an official statement issued by the factions, detailing the developments of the past period. It indicated that Islamic Resistance, through the quadripartite committee formed by the Coordination Framework in agreement with the Iraqi government, engaged for more than forty days in intensive rounds of negotiations. This primary dialogue aimed to discuss the mechanism of organizing resistance weapons in exchange for achieving Iraq's full and comprehensive sovereignty, represented principally by the withdrawal of US and NATO forces and all forms of foreign military presence from Iraqi land, airspace, and territorial waters, while the Islamic Resistance maintains its legitimate right to a direct response to any American or Zionist breach or violation of the country's sovereignty. However, the statement drew attention to the fact that the official government response has not reached the factions until this moment, despite the completion and official signing of the agreement paper by the quadripartite committee assigned by the Coordination Framework, as well as the parties representing the four resistance factions. Based on this delay and current data, the Islamic Resistance explicitly announced that it does not consider itself bound by any timeframe or agreement that might be discussed or spoken of by any governmental or political party. The factions concluded their statement by emphasizing that the resistance weapons will remain a sacred trust carried in the hands of their fighters, and as it has always been, its compass will remain fixed and directed exclusively against any enemy attempting to target Iraq and the safety of its people. In the same context, the factions stressed that their doors will remain open and welcoming to any serious dialogue that guarantees national sovereignty, complete dignity, and total emancipation from American hegemony, according to the statement.
