The Ministry of Oil has revealed a government decision to supply private generators with subsidized fuel for three months, in a move aimed at achieving remarkable stability and improvement in the country's electricity supply. The Ministry clarified that the Council of Ministers approved a proposal submitted by the Ministry to support private generator owners by providing them with fuel at a reduced price. Under the decision, each generator will be supplied with 40 liters per KVA at a price of 200 Iraqi dinars per liter, instead of the commercial price of 400 Iraqi dinars per liter. This subsidy will last for three months. A spokesperson for the Ministry affirmed that implementing this decision will impose significant financial burdens on the Ministry of Oil. However, it comes within the framework of the government's commitment to providing the best services to citizens and supporting private generator owners, who play a pivotal role in maintaining the stability of the electricity system. The Ministry also indicated that the upcoming period will witness an improvement and stability in electricity supplies, thanks to continuous government support and the general direction towards developing the oil sector, the electricity sector, and other vital sectors, which will positively reflect on the quality of services provided to citizens.
