Intelligence Agency Uncovers Network Falsifying Local Medicine Packaging as Imported Products

The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced the dismantling of a network involved in falsifying locally manufactured medicine packaging by replacing it with boxes bearing counterfeit international brand names. This followed precise intelligence efforts that uncovered a workshop reprocessing medicines such as starch, children's gelatin, and dexon, then packaging them in foreign-labeled boxes to market them as imported vitamins and dietary supplements distributed to warehouses and pharmacies. A specialized intelligence and technical team was formed to investigate the workshop's location and personnel, as well as to monitor the distribution of the counterfeit medicines in the field to apprehend and prevent their use. After completing all legal and technical procedures, an agency force raided the site, seizing over 300,000 different materials used for medicine counterfeiting, along with packaging devices, imitation tools for brand items, and labels of well-known pharmaceutical trademarks. Nine workers were arrested at the site, including six holding Pakistani nationality, in the capital city. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing these criminal acts that threaten the health and pharmaceutical security of citizens; their statements were recorded and they were referred to the judiciary. The site used for falsifying medical brand labels was shut down, and all medicines distributed to warehouses and pharmacies were confiscated. This operation is part of ongoing security and intelligence efforts to pursue those involved in pharmaceutical fraud and combat activities that endanger the health and safety of the public.
