The Iranian military announced on Wednesday that all weapons systems damaged during the conflict with Israel and the United States have been fully rebuilt, alongside the import of new systems to enhance combat capabilities. Army spokesperson Mohammad Akrami Nia stated that the reconstruction covered all branches of the armed forces, including those systems that suffered damage. Some of the new systems were supplied by the domestic defense industry, while others were imported from abroad. He added that these new equipments have contributed to strengthening the armed forces' combat capabilities. The conflict in the Middle East began after the United States and Israel launched extensive strikes on Iran on February 28, to which Iran responded by targeting various locations in the region. Since the ceasefire declared on April 8, the intensity of heavy bombardment has significantly decreased, but diplomatic efforts to end the war have stalled amid ongoing sporadic attacks, particularly around the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Akrami Nia noted serious measures were taken to rebuild and redeploy the damaged systems, emphasizing that Iran has shifted its military doctrine from defensive to offensive. He affirmed that preemptive strikes are legitimate under international law and the United Nations Charter, provided they comply with the principles of proportionality and necessity.
