Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Saturday that the current time is most suitable for reaching an agreement with the United States of America. In a related context, he noted growing difficulties in importing goods into the country, stating that authorities are making efforts to find alternative supply routes. During a media briefing, Pezeshkian stated that the "adversary" has recognized its inability to force Iran's surrender through military means but seeks to prevail by inciting division and hypocrisy. He added that while differences are natural, the priority lies in focusing on common ground and a unified vision to overcome disparities. The President emphasized that the government is making utmost efforts to resolve citizens' livelihood issues, with inflation being a constant topic of discussion in meetings with economic officials. Pezeshkian also highlighted the worsening economic problems facing Iran due to continuous pressures, deeming the current inflation and foreign exchange market situation "absolutely unacceptable." He underscored the necessity of sustained efforts to control prices and meet basic societal needs. He explained: "We are making vigorous efforts to confront price lists and inflation, which has become a real impediment to our progress. We once imported goods at low prices and through convenient routes, but now we are forced to choose different paths and means for importing them, making the import process far more complicated and difficult than before." Pezeshkian praised the cooperation of traders and producers, noting that without them, "the situation would have been much worse." He urged concerted efforts and reinforced national unity among the people and society as a whole to navigate this critical period. Meanwhile, the United States continues its attempts to impose economic pressure on Iran for weeks. The US Central Command announced yesterday that the US Navy redirected 51 commercial vessels as part of its operations aimed at enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
