Iraqi Airways conducted its first direct flight to Moscow's Vnukovo Airport on Tuesday, marking the end of a several-month suspension. The airline announced in a statement that the Russian capital welcomed the national carrier's inaugural service between Iraq and Russia, confirming the route's reactivation. Concurrently, the Russian Ministry of Transport issued a statement announcing the resumption of direct air traffic between the two nations. Two weekly flights are now scheduled, operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays, a move anticipated to enhance air transport, facilitate passenger movement, and boost trade and tourism exchanges. This initiative aligns with both countries' efforts to expand joint cooperation in the aviation sector, cater to traveler demands, and strengthen bilateral relations across various domains.
