At a time when Islamabad is intensifying its diplomatic efforts to help mediate between Iran and America, Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir left Tehran today, Saturday, after his second meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to Iranian official television.
Munir had held talks with Araghchi in Tehran yesterday, Friday, during which they exchanged views on the latest diplomatic initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation and ending the war between the United States and Iran, according to Iranian official media.
The Pakistani Army Chief also met in Tehran today with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as the chief Iranian negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
For his part, Qalibaf informed Munir during their meeting that his country "will not compromise on its rights."
He also added that the Iranian armed forces rebuilt their capabilities during the ceasefire, and that if the "United States resumes the war," the consequences would be "more devastating."
