Joint International Warning on Iranian Spyware Targeting Dissidents and Journalists

The United Kingdom, the United States, and the Netherlands on Tuesday issued a joint cybersecurity warning, detailing sophisticated spyware programs. The three nations stated that Iranian state-linked entities utilize these programs to target dissidents, activists, and journalists. Britain's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) announced that Iranian state-affiliated groups have used a suite of spyware known as "Chosen Break." This malicious software was deployed to steal emails and other sensitive information through "spear-phishing" campaigns on popular messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram.
