The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the targeting of civilian and economic facilities in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, which resulted in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children. The Kingdom affirmed its legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and the security of its citizens and residents on its territory. In a related context, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that these attacks coincided with the continued targeting of commercial vessels in the Red Sea, posing a threat to international maritime navigation. The Kingdom emphasized that it would not tolerate any aggression targeting its territories and assets, reiterating its adherence to its right to take necessary measures to protect its national capabilities and maintain the safety and security of its citizens and residents, in accordance with the rules of international law. Riyadh also renewed its rejection of the hostile approach pursued by the Houthi militia, which threatens the security and stability of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic surroundings, alongside their continued rejection of peace efforts. Saudi Arabia warned of the repercussions of continued targeting of civilians and civilian installations, calling for an immediate halt to all forms of escalation and ongoing threats to maritime security. The Kingdom called upon the international community to assume its responsibilities and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolutions 2216 of 2015 and 2722 of 2024.
