Kurdistan Region Declares Readiness to Resume Oil Exports, Awaits Baghdad Agreement

The Minister of Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Reber Ahmed, announced on Thursday that the region is ready to resume oil exports via pipelines, noting that Erbil is awaiting the final steps from Baghdad. Ahmed affirmed that the KRG is serious about resuming oil exports, but this matter currently depends on reaching a final agreement between the federal government and foreign oil companies. In a related context, the minister pointed out that some oil companies are currently working to meet local needs. He also stressed that the issue of insufficient security guarantees for these companies, including drone defense systems, remains unresolved and requires a radical solution before full export resumption.
