MP Faleh Al-Khazali explained that completing Al-Zaidi's government cabinet will enhance decision stability and elevate service quality across ministries, whether service-oriented or security-related. He affirmed Parliament's keenness to resolve the nine vacant portfolios and their repeated calls on political forces to finalize their choices to serve the Iraqi people's interests. Al-Khazali noted that a minister is bound by the ministry's and federal budget laws, necessitating the selection of a competent individual with experience to advance their ministry's work. He expressed hope for the cabinet's conclusion after political blocs submit nominees to the Prime Minister, for onward submission to Parliament, which will cast the final vote post-CV review. MP Ahmed Al-Mousawi, for his part, stressed the state's urgent need for an effective, complete government, noting that optimal performance is unattainable amidst the significant shortage of ministers. Al-Mousawi stated that Parliament has repeatedly called for nominee submission to fill vacancies, enabling the government to complete its approved program. He underscored the importance of an authentic minister leading each ministry, especially given current national circumstances and the need for direct decisions and clear responsibility in government files. Meanwhile, MP Qaisar Al-Jourani described cabinet completion as a political, constitutional, and national entitlement. He highlighted that the Iraqi public has awaited an end to these vacancies for over 118 days, with the government remaining incomplete. Al-Jourani clarified that political forces recognize cabinet completion as a genuine national demand, confirming ongoing political understandings. He predicted the resolution of vacant portfolios within the next fifteen days. He added that the approaching 2027 budget poses a practical challenge for political forces to finalize ministry nominees, as continued interim management could negatively impact planning and spending priority determination.
