Major Security Operation Results in Multiple Arrests And Seizures

Within the framework of ongoing efforts to enforce the rule of law, enhance community stability, and pursue outlaws across various regions, the Ministry of Interior announced the details of its extensive security operations. In this context, the Head of Relations and Information Department at the ministry, Major General Miqdad Miri, revealed that the field operations carriedout by the Rapid Response Division forces resulted in the arrest of 308 suspects based on various legal articles and laws. He explained that this list includes 31 suspects involved in integrity cases, along with 55 other suspects arrested in cases related to drug trafficking and consumption, in addition to apprehending 16 suspects under the provisions of Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism Law, and pursuing 206 other suspects against whom judicial arrest warrants were issued under various legal provisions. These arrests come within well-planned field strategies that included executing 124 security and specialized missions, in addition to deploying 196 security patrols, setting up 78 ambushes and checkpoints, and establishing 101 security checkpoints distributed carefully. The field movements also included executing two search and clearing operations, three specialized missions to remove violations, and the success of the forces in resolving three tribal disputes with wisdom and efficiency. The continuous search and seizure operations resulted in the confiscation of 21 various types of weapons, 356 pieces of ammunition, 32 ammunition magazines, in addition to 131 live rounds of various types. In another aspect of the seizures, large sums of money amounting to 6 million and 47 thousand Iraqi dinars were impounded, alongside one million US dollars, and the confiscation of 18 mobile phones and various other materials. In the file of combating drugs, the security forces recorded qualitative successes by seizing 1,425 grams of crystal meth, 305 grams of hashish, 92 various narcotic pills, in addition to seizing various tools used for consumption. These indicators confirm the continued commitment of the security institution to carry out its duties and overcome challenges to protect society.
