Iraq is celebrating a prominent national occasion marked by turning the page on the international coalition's mission and fully transitioning to managing the security file, with military and security units taking complete control with high efficiency. In this context, the Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numan, confirmed during press statements that this day represents a true crowning achievement for the immense sacrifices made by the Iraqi people across various segments, as well as the blood of the righteous martyrs and wounded. He pointed out that military cooperation has shifted from working under the international umbrella to the principle of parity, equality, and building balanced bilateral partnerships, explaining that the international community now looks with great appreciation at the heroic experiences of Iraqis that culminated in completing the termination of the coalition's mission. Al-Numan indicated that the extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Security Council witnessed the issuance of a package of central directives and recommendations by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Al-Zaidi, focusing fundamentally on the necessity of preserving achieved gains, intensifying intelligence efforts, and raising readiness levels across all branches. He concluded by emphasizing that over a decade of joint work against terrorism has proven the competence of Iraqi forces, rendering the need for the previous military presence obsolete, and shifting towards comprehensive bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
