The Ministry of Electricity has commenced the installation of specialized box distribution stations, each with a capacity of 1000 kVA, across the Karkh and Rusafa sectors of Baghdad. Salam Salman Al-Azirgawi, Director of Relations and Media at the Baghdad Electricity Distribution Company, stated that these stations will be deployed as needed in both areas, as part of the ministry's efforts to alleviate bottlenecks in the national grid and enhance its reliability. Al-Azirgawi added that the installation work aims to achieve balance in load levels, stabilize electricity supply hours in various parts of the capital, and reduce pressure on several feeders operating within the geographical scope of Karkh and Rusafa. In a related context, Al-Azirgawi noted that the company continues to monitor the loads of mobile stations under a dedicated plan. This plan seeks to fairly distribute power among regions during peak periods, in coordination with the electricity transmission departments affiliated with the ministry. Furthermore, the technical and engineering teams at the company have carried out operations to replace circuit breakers and overhead feeders, and extended low-voltage wires in multiple neighborhoods across the capital. This ensures immediate treatment and rapid rehabilitation of the network, contributing to fewer outages and guaranteeing a continuous and reliable supply of electricity to all residential areas. Box stations, also known as "kiosks," are compact electrical distribution units enclosed within protected metal structures. They are utilized to reduce electrical voltage from medium to low, efficiently and safely supplying electricity to residential and commercial areas.
