An Iraqi MP revealed today, Sunday, a proposal to increase the number of job positions included in the state budget to 200,000. The MP explained that the legislative term has been extended, with a 30-day postponement of the recess, noting that the budget bill is expected to be presented to the parliament this month after approval by the cabinet. He pointed out that the Prime Minister agreed to include 120,000 job positions in the budget, which will be distributed among the provinces according to population ratios. He added that the parliamentary finance committee has proposed several options, including raising the number of job positions to 200,000, aiming to broaden the range of beneficiaries. He clarified that these proposals seek to provide more job opportunities for graduates, especially those with older and higher degrees, in addition to those employed under census contracts and other graduate groups.
