Iraq's National Security Agency announced on Wednesday the seizure of thousands of leaked and smuggled school textbooks in Baghdad, following specialized operations conducted by its detachments in the capital. A statement from the agency confirmed that the large quantities of seized books violate the regulations and directives of the Ministry of Education. These operations successfully thwarted attempts to distribute irregular educational materials. Based on precise intelligence and continuous field monitoring, detachments at Al-Shaab checkpoint intercepted two vehicles arriving from one of the provinces; the first was laden with six thousand (6,000) copies of leaked books, while the second carried one thousand six hundred (1,600) books. Furthermore, in a related context, and after obtaining judicial approvals and setting a tight ambush at the same checkpoint, the agency's detachments seized a third vehicle transporting one thousand seventy (1,070) assorted smuggled school books. All confiscated items and suspects have been referred to the competent authorities to take necessary legal action in accordance with the law.
