Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi emphasized, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi today, Saturday, the importance of resuming maritime navigation freely and safely.
They also discussed the path of ongoing diplomatic movements and negotiations between Tehran and Washington, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments in the region.
They also discussed efforts to adopt political approaches that contribute to addressing points of dispute in a balanced and fair manner.
This came after Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani emphasized to his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi that using the Strait of Hormuz as a card of pressure will only lead to deepening the crisis.
The Qatari minister also stressed during the phone call today, Saturday, that freedom of navigation in Hormuz is an established principle that is non-negotiable, according to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, he pointed out the necessity of responding to mediation efforts to achieve a sustainable peace. He affirmed that Doha supports efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement ending the war.
