Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi on Tuesday received the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Iraq, Lee Joon-il, who delivered a written message from South Korean President Lee Jae-myung. The message conveyed congratulations on the formation of the new government and affirmed the significance of strengthening relations and partnership with Iraq, serving the mutual interests of both countries and their friendly peoples, and enabling Iraq to overcome current international economic challenges. During the meeting, Al-Zaidi emphasized the necessity of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and fostering joint efforts to expand the scope of cooperation across various sectors, particularly investment, energy, and technology. He also highlighted Iraq's keenness to cooperate with and benefit from the work and expertise of South Korean companies operating throughout the country. The Prime Minister underscored the government's strong interest in attracting further South Korean investments into Iraq, especially in fields where the Korean side possesses extensive expertise and meets the demands of the Iraqi market, such as the automotive and electronics industries. Al-Zaidi further pointed to the opportunities and facilities provided by the government in this regard, alongside its continuous efforts to enhance the investment environment and economic reforms.
