Security meeting held to unify legal frameworks in military courts

Within efforts to enhance institutional integration and develop the judicial system, a high-level security meeting was held in the capital, chaired by the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Staff General Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, on Thursday, to discuss ways to unify procedures and legal contexts adopted in military courts and internal security forces courts. The meeting took place at the office headquarters in the presence of the legal advisor to the Ministry of Interior, the heads of public prosecution in the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the heads of the internal security forces courts and the first military court, alongside the deputies of the legal departments in both ministries and a number of legal and judicial officials, as well as several heads of legal and specialized bodies in the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The meeting addressed a number of essential files and topics related to the work of the legal and judicial departments, foremost of which is the unification of contexts and procedures adopted in the work of courts and investigative boards, in addition to establishing precise and organized mechanisms for executing arrest warrants, and organizing procedures for managing the sessions of military courts and internal security forces courts to ensure raising performance efficiency and coordinating efforts between relevant authorities. At the conclusion of the meeting, several important recommendations were issued, most notably the formation of a joint committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, tasked with studying all presented topics in detail and working to unify related contexts and procedures, contributing to enhancing coordination and integration in the legal and judicial fields among the various security institutions.
