Local News: Within the framework of ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure the safety of traded products, the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control affirmed on Wednesday the continuation and intensification of regulatory procedures to control markets and prevent the circulation of goods that do not comply with approved standards. In this context, the head of the organization, Fayyad Mohammed Abd Al-Dulaimi, explained that field regulatory campaigns at border crossings, markets, and warehouses are proceeding regularly, pointing out that the massive volume and enormous diversity of goods necessitate the continuous development of regulatory mechanisms and the enhancement of coordination and joint cooperation among relevant authorities. The head of the organization added that this great diversity also requires the activation and enforcement of strict and deterrent legal measures against all violators, emphasizing that the primary goal and most prominent objective of these steps is to close all potential loopholes that might be exploited to trade goods that do not meet conditions, while ensuring the delivery of safe and compliant products to the Iraqi consumer on a permanent basis.
