The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Friday the detention of three officials at the General Electric Transmission Company in Maysan province for deliberately causing damage to public funds and the interests of their employer. A statement from the commission indicated that the Maysan Investigation Office team visited the Southeastern Networks branch of the company and successfully apprehended the accounts manager, his assistant, and the payroll officer following thorough investigations. The inquiry revealed that the accused failed to remit retirement deductions related to employee contracts from 2019 to the present, despite these amounts being deducted from contractors' salaries. The statement highlighted that the amount withheld by the suspects reached 390 million dinars, causing harm to public funds, as they did not transfer the money to the Maysan Retirement and Social Security Department and kept it for personal benefit. An official seizure report was prepared, and the suspects were presented before the Maysan Investigative Court specialized in integrity cases, which ordered their detention under Article 340 of the Penal Code.
