U.S. Central Command Announces Full Withdrawal from Erbil Base, Shifting to Bilateral Defense Relations with Iraq

The U.S. Central Command announced on Wednesday the completion of its forces' and equipment's organized withdrawal from Erbil Airbase. This move aligns with a planned transition aimed at establishing a bilateral defense relationship between the United States and Iraq, according to a statement from the Command. The Command also confirmed that the Combined Joint Task Force remains operational, headquartered in Jordan. Furthermore, U.S. forces continue their fight against the ISIS terrorist organization in Syria, alongside coalition partners and the Syrian government.
