US issues wide warnings regarding Saudi aviation and airspace status

Amid rapid field developments in the region, the US diplomatic mission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued strict warnings to its citizens regarding the possibility of flight suspensions and airspace closures, alongside expectations of widespread disruptions in the Kingdom's transportation network. In details of the precautionary measures, the mission published an official statement via its electronic portal and the X platform, indicating that the persistence of current security tensions and ongoing threats directed against airports and airspace requires American nationals to exercise the utmost levels of caution and vigilance. The statement included advice to review flight schedules and verify their status through direct coordination with relevant airlines and airports. On the field and border level, the official US directives reiterated the necessity of completely staying away from border areas adjacent to Yemen, where movement restrictions are imposed on US government personnel within a distance of up to twenty miles, in addition to requiring prior permits to visit specific regions and counties. These security developments coincide with the resumption of military confrontations since mid-July between the Ansar Allah movement and the Saudi-backed army, following a four-year period of calm during which Houthi forces took control of the western coast of the Red Sea and the vicinity of the Bab el-Mandeb strait, coinciding with the internationally recognized Yemeni authorities' announcement on Monday of launching a military operation aimed at reclaiming the capital, Sana'a.
