The Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday the arrest of several motorcycle and tuk-tuk drivers following incidents of harassment in front of a school in the Shaala area. The command stated in a release that the security campaign was launched in response to citizens' appeals, involving units from Karkh Police and the Second Federal Police Division, aiming to curb the phenomenon of gatherings of motorcycle and tuk-tuk drivers in Shaala, Al-Jawadin neighborhoods, and the agricultural entrance of Al-Khatib. The statement indicated that the campaign resulted in the detention of several offenders involved in unethical behavior, including harassment in front of the school, as well as causing traffic congestion and disruption. The operations command affirmed that these measures are part of efforts to reduce negative phenomena that damage the reputation of Baghdad society and to alleviate the burden on citizens.
