The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency announced on Monday the seizure of a large quantity of non-compliant cosmetic products in the capital, Baghdad, totaling (2163) cartons. The operation stemmed from precise intelligence, technical efforts, and diligent follow-up by the Organized Crime Combat detachments in the Rusafa sector. During the raid, a fictitious warehouse was discovered inside a suspect's home. The seized consignment included cosmetics of various origins, with (900) cartons lacking production or expiry dates, in addition to not meeting official approvals. The Agency clarified that the seizure coincided with the execution of a judicial arrest warrant against the suspect identified by the initials (T. J. M.), under Article (35) concerning trademark counterfeiting. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect manufactures these products in factories outside Iraq and applies misleading commercial data to them. The Agency urged citizens to exercise caution when purchasing or using cosmetic products, verify their source and data integrity, and avoid acquiring them from unreliable websites and entities, in order to protect their safety.
