Amid ongoing regional and international political developments, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf addressed the nature of the American approach toward his country, affirming that Washington adopts a dual stance by putting forward proposals through mediation channels while displaying entirely contrasting statements via various media outlets. These remarks came during a speech delivered by the Iranian official ahead of the open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, where he explained that the state of despair and helplessness is not limited to the Israeli side alone, but extends to the US administration, which has reached a dead end in the face of the Iranian people's resilience. He added that Washington, which attempts to publicly market a different image of reality, has recently submitted settlement proposals through mediators, while strictly emphasizing that the era of wasting time and imposing unilateral conditions has ended irrevocably, and that Tehran's position is clear and steadfast, noting that the Strait of Hormuz will not be opened until the seven conditions based on the Islamabad Memorandum are met. Qalibaf pointed out that these manufactured contradictions primarily aim to cause intellectual confusion within Iranian society, negatively affect the stability of decision-making processes among officials, and attempt to manipulate the country's strategic calculations, stressing that Tehran does not base its security policies on tweets or media statements, but rather relies on the actual field actions of the adversary. In a related context, the parliament speaker stressed adherence to a strategy combining power and political rationality, indicating that his country will not be dragged behind impulses nor yield to threats, but will rather continue the path of fighting and negotiating simultaneously through a strong field presence to surprise the enemy and utilize diplomatic tools to wrest the rights of the people. He also touched upon the repercussions of the October 7 events, considering them a decisive historical milestone that turned Israeli security illusions into continuous panic, and affirming that the pillars of Tel Aviv's national security have completely collapsed and cannot be restored regardless of budgets, amid ongoing tensions and reciprocal strikes between the two sides since late February and a mid-June ceasefire memorandum that has not yet led to a final settlement of the conflict.
