Controversy has reignited regarding the medical habits of US President Donald Trump, following notable remarks he delivered during a campaign rally in Vandalia, Ohio, on Saturday evening. Trump confirmed his continued routine of taking an aspirin tablet daily, despite openly acknowledging that he remains uncertain whether it provides any actual health benefits. Addressing the crowd, Trump explained that his persistence in taking the medication stems primarily from psychological need, pointing out that it significantly thins the blood. He went on to add that while he does not know if it is genuinely effective, he has maintained this regimen for a long time and remains standing. These comments bring back into focus an earlier interview Trump gave to The Wall Street Journal in January, during which he disclosed taking a daily dose higher than what his physicians had recommended. At the time, Trump defended his choice by stating he wanted to avoid "heavy blood" and ensure smoother circulation toward his heart, revealing that he has adhered to the habit for about 25 years. Additionally, Trump previously attributed a noticeable bruise on his left hand earlier this year to high aspirin intake; although it appeared after bumping into a table, he noted the dosage makes him bruise easily. Meanwhile, his physician, Sean Barbabella, noted Trump takes 325 milligrams daily to prevent heart disease.
