"Sovereignty Day" marks a new chapter in Iraq's relations with world nations and a fundamental cornerstone for bolstering internal stability, according to Lieutenant General Saad Maan, head of the Security Media Cell. Maan noted that this occasion establishes foreign relations based on common interests, Iraq's national vision, and the welfare of its people. It also reflects the state's and its institutions' capacity to assume responsibility for protecting the country and effectively addressing security challenges, thereby enhancing citizen trust in its security and military bodies. Lieutenant General Maan added that consolidating national sovereignty directly contributes to unifying and clarifying security decision-making, while simultaneously strengthening the ability of security agencies to enforce the law and protect citizens. He emphasized that confining arms to the state and applying the law to all are essential factors in reinforcing state prestige and ensuring sustainable internal stability. Maan considered these steps a crucial governmental necessity and a priority within the current agenda, given their pivotal role in fostering comprehensive stability and social peace. He highlighted the essential role played by security and military agencies in reinforcing state authority, particularly through their continuous efforts in combating terrorism, protecting borders, and safeguarding internal security. He affirmed the ongoing commitment of these agencies to developing their capabilities and entrenching the principle of the rule of law, to guarantee Iraq's protection and uphold its national decision. He recalled that Iraqi security forces have waged fierce battles and decisive campaigns against terrorism and crime, achieving complete victories for the nation's security.
