The Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah on Sunday announced the results of the electronic lottery for the Hajj season from 2027 to 2030, confirming that priority for performing the pilgrimage will be given to senior citizens. In a speech delivered by the Commission's Chairman, Sami Al-Masoudi, during the results ceremony, he emphasized the efforts made to adopt and streamline electronic registration. He noted that the process was supervised by seven official government bodies to ensure absolute transparency and fairness in result approval. Strict technical measures were also taken, in coordination with the University of Technology and Al-Mustansiriya University, to prevent any manipulation attempts. Al-Masoudi explained that dedicating these years' lottery to senior citizens reflects the Commission's conviction in their right to receive precedence for this blessed obligation. He further highlighted that Iraq's limited Hajj quota, relative to the large number of applicants, imposes a substantial responsibility on the Commission, requiring careful and diligent management.
